We normally make dal with different vegetables . Meat is used to make curries and fries etc. But mixing this meat and dal is a different idea and i promise you that this is very delicious and spicy too. lets see how to prepare this mutton dal with minimum and simple ingredients available ..
Ingredients :
Meat – 250 gms
Cooked tuar dal – 200 gms
Onion – 1
Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
Curry leaves – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1/2tsp
Red chillie powder – 2 tsp
Salt - as required
Tamarind pulp – 1/2 cup
Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
Oil – 3 tbsp
Heat oil in a pan and fry the sliced onions till soft and translucent. Add ginger garlic paste, curry leaves and turmeric. Fry a little . Add cleaned meat along with red chillie powder and salt as required. Mix well and cook till all the water evaporates. Add two cups of water and cook till the meat is tender. Add tamarind pulp and cook for two minutes more. Now add the cooked tuar dal,mix well and cook for five minutes more. Add garam masala and serve with coriander leaves.. This goes well with rice and rotis.. along with pacchipulusu..

Hi
When do you add the dal to the recipe. Also your mouth watering photo does not show the dal in the finished dish.
Thanks
Neville
Neville,,
sorry i missed the sentence.. now corrected the recipe. The dal is already cooked and now its again cooked with the meat and spices. So it becomes like paste or gravy.
