Making children eat their  food  is a daily war for every mother. They doesnt like the routine  dishes.  Now a days many vairieties of junk and fast food is available outside. But its not good for health. So every mom has to  imagine and create new recipes for her kids .They should also be like one available outside . Noodles is a common dish liked by many children and youngsters too. Instead of  eating noodles as it is , I tried to mix them with boiled alu and make cutlets.

cutlet 1

Ingredients :

Boiled potatoes -250 gms

Boiled noodles – 100 gms

Red chillie powder -1 tsp

Turmeric powder – 1/4tsp

Salt -as required

Coriander leaves -1/4 cup

Chat masala or garam masala powder – 1 tsp

Oil to fry

cutlet 2

Boil the potatoes adding little turmeric and salt as required. Boil the noodles and drain in a colander adding cold water immediately. This prevents noodles from sticking to each other.  Remove  the skin of potato and mash them . Add noodles, red chillie powder, turmeric, chat masala , salt, finely chopped coriander and mix well to form a uniform mixture.

cutlet 3

Make small balls with the prepared mixture and flatten them to make any shape you like. Heat a flat pan and shallow  fry these cutlets on medium heat. Add little oil and fry till they are golden brown on both sides..  Serve hot with tomato sauce.

You can use this cutlet  in a sandwich or burger. Fry the bread slices one side using butter and  place this cutlet in the middle. Children will definetly love this new recipe.
You can use normal white noodles , Maggi noodles or even vermicelli.. Can also add grated carrot to the mixture to make it more colorful..

    Hello,

You have very creative recipes on this site. I would like make couple of suggestions.
    1. Please add some photos to the recipe title on the home page. It looks so dry & boring without photos corresponding to the recipe…this will attract more people to your wonderful site.

    2. When you post the recipe please have to final product of the recipe FIRST and the ingredients photos can follow. For example : when I click on this potato /noodle cutlet recipe the first image was so pale…i thought this was what the final product must look and almost didn’t bother read it…AFTER I scroll at the bottom THEN was able to see the beautiful / yummy dish.

overall excellent recipes…keep it up and many thanks for sharing your recipes.

    Cheers!
    Ayesha :)

I am 20 years old. I tried your recipe today and it was a GRAND SUCCESS! Believe me this is the second time I am cooking something.

My first attempt at cooking failed miserably. :P It was supposedly called Kesari which even the dogs wouldn’t eat. This time all I was did was to simply follow whatever was given here. The quantity of the items, I checked with my grandma, otherwise it was full & full my effort :) and the outcome….a bunch of exceptionally delicious cutlets which everyone at home loved.

The only little change I did was..since there wasn’t chat/garam masala, I simply added the masala powder that came with the noodles packet and about 1 tsp of chilli powder. A BIG thanks for your recipe. Kudos :)

Hannah, good. you can also the tastemaker which comes with noodles. I ll give one more idea. Some people dont like to use the tastemaker with noodles as it gives same taste. So u can make egg fried rice and add this tastemaker to the rice. It gives a special taste to the rice.. ofcourse different too. Its always good to make experiments in kitchen and learn with mistakes..
