After knowing so many benefits of oats, i bought one box of quaker oats. When i checked them oats were really tasteless. So i tried to start by making sweet with oats combining with semya..
Ingredients :
Oats – 1/2 cup
Vermicelli/Semya – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 1/2 cup
Ghee – 3 tsp
Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp
Dry fruits ( Kaju, Badam Kismis) – 1/4 cup
Milk – 1/2 litre
Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan and fry oats till light golden brown and keep them aside. Heat again another tsp of ghee and fry vermicelli till golden brown and take them in a bow. Heat another tsp of ghee and fry the dryfruits and keep them aside. Now heat milk in the same pan and bring it to boil. Add fried semya to and cook for two minutes . Then add oats and cook them along with semya for another two minutes. Now add sugar and cardamom powder and boil it for a minute and add fried dry fruits . Serve this kheer hot or chilled. Its so easy and quick to prepare.
You can use artificial sweetener or honey instead of sugar for diabetic patients. You can also substitute semya with sabudana..
